Some of the saloon details were underway by the hulls builder Howard. The original intent of leaving the cedar strips core exposed was changed when the clear-coat process began to add too much weight. We changed to lightweight paint instead. Interior structures are all built of lightweight foam core, with a variety of hardwoods epoxy-veneered in place.
The woodwork is beautiful. I do love wood. The interior is now the only place I’d consider having wood on my boat. Though, I’m sure I’d opt for rugged fiberglass and mousefur. Hopefully, your veneers will hold up well for many years.
